PERA MANTOVANA I.G.P.
Six varieties of Mantuan Pear are cultivated: Abate Fetel, Conference, Decana del Comizio, Kaiser, Max Red Bartlett, and William. All are characterized by a sweet flavor, with varying degrees of aroma, but differ in skin color and texture. The Mantuan Pear has diuretic, purifying, and intestinal-regulating properties, allowing for high consumption without introducing excessive calories. Most of the sugars it contains are fructose, making it suitable even for diabetics.
